At 27 points down deep into the third quarter, the Western Bulldogs would have been forgiven for thinking that this was just another one of those days against a Carlton side that has had the Dogs measure in recent times.
But these Dogs are made of sterner stuff, and proved it with a rousing and stunning comeback to win 16.11 (107) to 13.13 (91), which put Carlton in their place and ensured a week of soul-searching about another dramatic in-game fadeout.
